Mental health is often a censored topic. They say: “Mental health needs more sunlight, openness and shameless conversations, but it's not always possible. As normal as our childhood is, we all carry emotional baggage with us throughout our lives, which unconsciously affects our habits, our choices, our professional choices and, ultimately, our happiness. I learned the hard and expensive way that I needed a strong therapeutic alliance with my therapist.
I needed someone who was warm, reliable, and within my price range, and the people I had seen up to that point were none of those things. Eventually, I broke up with my psychologist via text message and cheated on my eating disorder counselor.
